History of development

Novbytchem JSC is a St. Petersburg plant of adhesives and paints. The company produces varnishes, paints, stains, putties, enamels and other repair materials.

Since 1994, the company's employees have been helping people to make their houses and apartments beautiful, transform the old into a new and comfortable life. The goal of the company is to give everyone a can of paint to enliven the gray everyday life. Novbytchim is visited by both those who want to improve something in or around the house (to fix a crack, put tiles, paint walls or a fence) and those who are engaged in creativity.

1994 - 2024

Key dates

May 20, 1994. Graduates of the Leningrad Institute of Technology (SPbTU) have invented a dye-impregnation for leather "Karat" and glue "Quintol". This marked the beginning of Novbytchem JSC.

The year is 1995. The line of adhesives was expanded, "Octopus", "Quintol-lux", "Rubber" appeared.

The year is 1996. They turned to the production of lacquers, including bitumen, non-aqueous stains, XB enamel, as well as BT-177 "Silver" paints. To this day, the latter is popular with buyers. They also began to expand the dealer network throughout the country and the near abroad.

The year is 1998. We started holding a scholarship competition for talented young scientists of the Technological University. Later, in the 2000s, scholarships began to be issued for students and postgraduates of SPbTiD and LETI.

The year 2005. We have created three research laboratories that develop new products and control the quality of those already released.

The year is 2006. A pigment grinding mill has been created, which is much more efficient and economical than a vertical bead mill. The invention has been patented and has been successfully used at the enterprise so far.

The year is 2008. For import substitution, a new brand "Chief Technologist" with latex coatings was created. The line consists of high-quality and environmentally friendly paints, varnishes and enamels on a water basis.

The year is 2016. We have received a certificate of conformity certifying that the quality management system for the production of coatings meets the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2015.

2024. Now we produce more than 70 types of products, we have a dealer network in the most remote parts of the country, as well as in Kazakhstan and Belarus.

How the company works

To create materials designed for all possible needs in painting and repair, a chemical and technological laboratory of five people is working - they control the quality of products and incoming raw materials, check goods, identify their weaknesses and improve already manufactured products.

The strength of Novbytchem is that the company not only develops and constantly monitors all its products, but also that it invests in the education of new scientific personnel. A scientific laboratory operates in the production, whose employees are engaged in basic research, as well as analyze the quality of goods and create new ones.

What Novbytchem cares about

Employees take care of the efficiency and environmental friendliness of production. For example, in 2006, experts created a mill for grinding pigments, which is much more efficient and economical than a vertical bead mill. The invention is patented and successfully used in the enterprise. In addition, every year the plant issues grants to young scientists to develop environmentally friendly production methods.
